7 Practical Things To Do With Boys Acne

Most people thought that acne is only a problem for girls and for boys it is not a big deal. That is not true if you have a teenage boy at home you couldn’t agree more with me. Young men are equally worried about acne as much as girls do. In fact boys are also struggling to cope with both physical and psychological problems due to acne.

Acne problem for boys normally starts when they reach puberty. Most of the times these problems are manageable. Proper diet is an important factor in controlling the problem. Even though there is no scientific evidence that shows greasy foods and chocolate are the culprit, but most people tend to believe that they contribute to acne problems.

One important habit to adopt is cleanliness. Keep your face clean all the time. You can find many cleansing solutions out there on the market. Get a gentle cleanser which is suitable for all types of skin.

Sometimes part of growing up your boys might be going through some psychological stress. The stress could lead to more acne problems too

Here are some helpful outlines for both parents and the boys on how to take care of the acne problems successfully.

1) Be sympathetic to your boys. It may not seems as a big problem to you as parents but to the boys at the puberty age it is a big deal. It is important to understand their emotional needs and to support them.

3) One important rule to remember, keep your fingernails away from your acne all the time. Picking or squeezing your acne may cause infection to the skin and make your problem worse.

3) Please use only electric or safety razor when shaving. Do not use regular razor because you might bleed your skin and cause infections.

4) Make sure to use only a gentle skin care products. Washing your face at least twice a day with a mild cleansing products is recommended.

5) Find skin care products that are labeled as non-comedogenic. These products normally will prevent clogging of the pores and prevent blemishes.

6) For serious cases that is unmanageable you might have to consult skin care specialist for their advice. Skin care professionals will assist you to manage the problems and recommend the right skin care products.

7) In a worse case scenario you may need the dermatologist to write you a prescriptions. They can give you the best advice since they are the authority in skin care. They are equipped with the latest technology.

Early stages of puberty is a hard time for your boys due to hormonal changes both physically and psychologically. Acne is definitely not a welcome addition to their condition. They need your full moral support and let them know that you are always there for them.
